Taking Saint Tukaram to Vaikunta

1 comment:

  1. Speaking of Garuda remnds me of one thing. Sine this blog is dedicated, i think it'd be nice if u covered this story, in a post of urs.
In South Indian temples, the general norm is that there is a 'sannithi Garudan' sanctorum in front of Perumal Sannithi.
But, in Thenthiruperai (one of he 108 divya desams, located close to Nellai, and part of the Nava Tirupati) Perumal asked Garuda to move aside and wait as he wanted to see the villagefolk make merry and the children play on the street in front of the temple!
In this temple alone, Garuda has a sannithi towards the left of Perumal.
Even Nammazhwar praises this uniqueness when singing about MaharaNedungKuzhaikaathar.
    Keep up the Good work!
    Regards,
