Garuda bestows a person with the eight kinds of Sampath (Ashta
Aishwaryam). These are Anima, Mahima, Lakima, Karima Esitvam,
Vasithvam, Prapti and Prakamyam. Garuda also possesses the six
auspicious qualities of the Lord (JnAna, Bala, Aishwarya,
Shakti, Tejas and Vatsalya). This is the reason for Garuda
being so closely associated with the Lord.
